Thank you for coming to this fundraiser. The money raised here will go to purchase a safe and suitable home for Memphis Rose Hamman and her mom. If you haven’t followed this story, on June 7, 2020, 6-year-old Memphis was in the backseat traveling to a family bowling party with her “Mimi”, (Tanya). Mimi was driving and Uncle Kenny was sitting in the passenger seat. They were traveling east when a car traveling west crossed the median and struck their vehicle on the driver’s side. The impact was so great that it left Memphis with a high-level spinal cord injury causing paralysis from the shoulders down and the need for a ventilator to allow her to breathe. Tanya suffered a crushed knee and multiple injuries in her foot, and Uncle Kenny went to heaven a few hours later. Memphis spent months in the hospital, where she received several surgeries and loving care. She is now stable, and although confined to wheelchair and still needing the ventilator, she remains her feisty, amazing self. She and her mom, Gayrene Meade need our help to get into the perfect, permanent home so that she doesn’t have to continue in a rental situation with the chance of having to move again. If there is any money left over from the purchase of the home, it will be used to purchase a better vehicle, because they are now driving a used 2011 wheelchair accessible van that has over 170,000 miles on it and is starting to need major repairs.

The good news is that we have a donor that has pledged to match every dollar, up to $100,000! That means for every dollar you give; it will be doubled! Also, this fund is tax deductible!

If you are interested in starting your own a matching gift challenge for a gift of over $10,000, please email lesliesk@bellsouth.net and we can assist.
